At the heart of our success are the local people who work for us and with us. Since 1935, we have embraced our responsibility to give back to the communities that have supported us with our apprenticeship programs, charity partnerships, and a schedule of events throughout the year that allows us truly to give back, not just donate. For over 50 years, we have been offering apprenticeships that have provided hundreds of young people from Gloucestershire and Herefordshire with their first step into the workforce. Their successes have, in turn, opened doors for many more.

Our charities
We are deeply committed to supporting our community in many ways. We have built strong partnerships with local schools and colleges (such as Cleeve School and Stroud College) offering tailored training and valuable work experience. Our support extends to local charities such as Maggie’s Cancer Care, James Hopkins Trust for life-limited young children, Cheltenham Guardians, Venture Hereford, and Safe Space Counselling service in Nottingham. We do not just donate; we actively raise funds and volunteer our time. As our business has grown, we have embraced our responsibility to give back to the communities that have supported us with our dedicated social committee that organise a schedule of events throughout the year.

CFR are pleased to provide ongoing help and support to Marches Counselling Services who are based next door to our offices in Hereford.
Marches Counselling Service (MCS), offer services which helps people explore and work with the dissatisfaction they feel, whether that be with themselves, their situation, or the society they move within. They help people find ways of feeling more comfortable ‘in their own skins’ and more able to engage with the environment in which they find themselves.

We know that the foundation of our success over the last 90 years has been the local people. Some are employees and many are our clients. So, we believe we have an obligation to ‘give something back’ to our local community through sponsorship, fundraising, donation and support of local good causes and initiatives. In addition, we are constantly reviewing our procurement strategy in the context of adding Social Value.
We are currently enjoying supporting Cheltenham Tigers Rugby team across all age groups to play some great rugby, learn invaluable life lessons about working as a team and hopefully inspire and find the talent of the future for our ongoing apprenticeship programmes.
