Apprenticeships

At CF Roberts, we believe in building the future of construction through hands-on learning and professional development. Each year, we welcome 10 to 15 new Electrical and Mechanical Apprentices across our offices in Hereford, Cheltenham, and Nottingham.

Electrical Apprenticeships

Our Electrical Apprenticeship follows a Level 3 Electrotechnical course, a comprehensive four-year programme that combines on-site experience with classroom learning. This structured course is designed to equip our apprentices with advanced skills and knowledge in electrical installation, safety, and technology, preparing them for a successful career in the field.

Mechanical Apprenticeships

Our Mechanical Apprenticeship currently offers a Level 2 Building Services course, completed over two years. This combination of hands-on work and academic training provides a thorough understanding of mechanical systems, positioning our apprentices as skilled professionals in building services which they then can use to specialise with further training opportunities.

Key programme highlights

On-the-job learning and college education

Both programmes blend real-world, on-site training with college-based learning. Apprentices attend college either on day-release or block-release schedules, depending on the course provider.

Paid training

We believe in supporting our apprentices from day one. All apprentices receive full pay during their training, including time spent in college, ensuring they can focus on learning without financial stress.

Comprehensive induction and safety training

Our induction process sets apprentices up for success with in-depth health and safety training, quality company clothing, tools, and PPE, providing all they need to start confidently in their roles.

Diverse project exposure

With a wide range of projects across electrical and mechanical installations, apprentices at CF Roberts gain exposure to different types of work.

Pathways beyond apprenticeships

Upon completion, apprentices graduate with recognised qualifications, fully prepared for roles in their field. Many of our former apprentices continue to build their careers within CF Roberts, moving into areas such as project management, estimation and design, quantity surveying, and supervisory roles. Notably, three of our four directors began their careers as apprentices, demonstrating the growth opportunities available within our team.

Our company culture is one of collaboration, integrity, and commitment to safety.

Be part of our journey

An apprenticeship with CF Roberts is more than a training programme—it’s the start of a lasting career. If you are ready to gain valuable experience, work with expert mentors, and contribute as part of a team, consider joining our apprenticeship programme.
